Kenny Omega Wins Second AEW World Title After Defeating MJF on Dynamite

Kenny Omega wins the AEW World title once again. He defeated MJF in the main event of AEW Dynamite: Beach Break to win the championship for the second time in his career.

The match had huge stakes. Omega accepted MJF’s condition that if he lost, he would never get another shot at the AEW World Championship. With his final chance on the line, Omega fought through MJF’s mind games and cheating to win the title.

The match started at a fast pace, with both men exchanging technical wrestling and heavy strikes before taking the fight outside the ring.

Omega took control early with a German suplex and an electric chair move, but MJF quickly slowed him down by using dirty tactics, including raking Omega’s eyes. The fight spilled into the crowd, where Omega sent MJF crashing through a row of chairs.

Back in the ring, Omega looked ready to hit a V-Trigger, but MJF pulled the referee in the way. MJF then took advantage by biting Omega and continued using every shortcut he could find.

One of the big spots came when Omega climbed to the top of the lifeguard chair near the entrance stage and landed a moonsault onto MJF. But Friedman refused to stay down.

Following that, both men exchanged some more strikes and threw lariats at the same time, knocking each other down. MJF recovered first and hit a powerbomb backbreaker, followed by a package piledriver, but Omega somehow kicked out.

The fight then spilled to the ringside, where MJF partially cleared the announce table and turned one of the monitors sideways. He tried to set up another attack on the ring apron, but Omega escaped and rocked him with two hard punches and hit MJF with a big boot, sending him through the announce table.

Later, Omega attempted a moonsault, but Friedman’s knees were up. MJF then drove Omega onto an open chair with a running tombstone piledriver. He then hit an avalanche Poison Frankensteiner and followed it up with a Heatseeker. But Omega somehow kicked out.

As the match reached its final moments, MJF tried to cheat once again.

While distracting the referee with the AEW World Championship belt, he reached for his Dynamite Diamond Ring. Before he could use it, Will Ospreay ran to the ring and took the ring away from him.

Omega briefly picked up the championship belt but decided not to use it. Friedman immediately took advantage of the hesitation and hit Omega with a low blow and then smashed him with the championship belt.

It looked like the match was over, but Omega shocked everyone by kicking out at one. He got back to his feet, took MJF’s punches, and fired back with three straight V-Triggers. He then lifted Friedman onto his shoulders and hit the One-Winged Angel.

This time, Omega pinned MJF. With this, Omega became a two-time AEW World Champion.

After the match, AEW officially announced Omega’s first title defense. He will face the winner of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, Will Ospreay, at All In.
