TNA Wrestling has locked in one of its most recognizable on-screen personalities, confirming that Director of Operations Daria Rae has signed a new deal with the promotion.
The announcement puts an end to questions about her future while signaling that her role on a weekly television show is far from over.
Fightful first reported the news before TNA made the agreement official, ensuring Rae will remain a regular fixture on TNA Thursday Night iMPACT!.
Daria Rae to remain a key part of TNA programming
Since making her surprise debut on the January 15 premiere of TNA Thursday Night iMPACT! on AMC, Rae has quickly established herself as a central authority figure.
Her ongoing power struggle with TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella has added another layer to the show’s weekly storylines, proving that sometimes the biggest battles don’t require a referee to ring the bell.
TNA described Rae as a key part of iMPACT! across AMC and AMC+ in the United States, Sportsnet 360 in Canada, and TNA+ worldwide, further highlighting her importance to the promotion’s current presentation.
Earlier this year, Rae explained why she believes TNA has been the right fit for her career. Speaking with The Sportster, she praised the environment within the company.
“There is more passion, heart, soul and pure talent in this company than I think, arguably, anywhere else in sports entertainment today.”
The former WWE Superstar, previously known as Sonya Deville, debuted in TNA after spending nearly a decade with WWE. She later revealed on Busted Open Radio that her original agreement with TNA was a six-month contract, making this new deal another significant chapter in her run with the company.
With Rae remaining in the fold, TNA heads into a busy stretch that includes Lockdown on Aug. 23 in Chicago, where every match will take place inside a steel cage, along with back-to-back live events in Philadelphia on July 30 and 31. For now, Rae’s time in TNA is far from over, and the company appears ready to keep her calling the shots.
