Shawn Stasiak Wants To Know What’s Up With The ‘Meat’ Business In AEW

AEW recently launched some new ‘Meat-y’ merchandise. It seems WWE veteran Shawn Stasiak has something to say about it. The former Hardcore Champion had some words for the Jacksonville-based promotion’s CEO Tony Khan.

The new merchandise launched by the Jacksonville-based promotion is a T-shirt promoting the rivalry between Miro and Powerhouse Hobbs. The T-shirt is labeled Hobbs vs Miro – Battle of the Meats, a result of the response the pair got at All Out.

This didn’t sit well with Shawn Stasiak, who felt that he should be acknowledged. During his run in WWE, one of the 15-time Hardcore Champion’s nicknames was Meat.

What is the story behind the ‘Meat’ gimmick in AEW? Well, both Miro and Powerhouse Will Hobbs are two muscular men. In other words, they are two meaty men. Thus the term ‘Meat’ has become a popular phrase in All Elite Wrestling. In an attempt to make the most out of this feud, Tony Khan and the Jacksonville-based promotion launched the T-shirt.

With the term, ‘Meat’ starting to trend the former WWE Superstar took to Twitter to send a message to Tony Khan. He questioned the AEW CEO’s reasoning behind using Stasiak’s nickname in 2023 when the genuine article is still here.

Meat Business

“Hey @TonyKhan what’s up with all this “MEAT” business? I mean it was nice to “Meet” you a couple years ago backstage but cmon man….Aged Meat when preserved well….is actually AGELESS!” Shawn Stasiak tweeted.

Of course, the 15-time WWE Hardcore Champion did have other nicknames as well such as The Mecca of Manhood, and many more. He was also called The Perfect One at a certain point in his career. At that period he was making fun of Hall of Famer ‘Mr. Perfect’ Curt Hennig.

Do you think Tony Khan stole the gimmick from the former WWE Superstar? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
