JR Kratos Is Excited To Be Part Of Where The NWA Is Headed

JR Kratos wants to write his own legacy with the NWA.

WrestleZone recently spoke with JR Kratos ahead of NWA 312. Kratos spoke about what he likes most about working for Billy Corgan in NWA, noting that he enjoys the no-nonsense relationship they share.

“I think if I had to just narrow it down, it’s just that he’s very easy to talk to, and very understanding, and he’s very open. He’s just a no bullsh-t kind of guy. That’s kind of what I like. If he likes the idea and he sees that you’re passionate about it and he sees a meaning or a future in your creativeness, then he’s gonna let you roll with it. He trusts his talent, and that’s really cool. Of course, we have our bullet points, but how we get there and what we do with it,” Kratos explained. “He gives us a lot of leeway. It’s really cool, and if he doesn’t like it, he will definitely let you know. But it’s respectable.

“It’s a really cool relationship that I have personally, and all the boys in the back, even the girls, everybody just loves working for him.” he added. “One, because he’s real and he’s extremely passionate. So it oozes off him, and it gives us an excitement to perform and do what we do best. It’s just a kickass place to work for.”

Kratos also spoke about being part of a promotion with so much history, noting that he hopes to be a headliner in the NWA.

“To be a household name there, and to be a top guy is a goal, and one reason is look at the lineage, the history, the guys that have held the titles there and what they’ve done in this business, what they’ve created for this business. The NWA is one of the most historic banners I think that’s in wrestling today, besides the WWE. But all those guys created their legacy, to me, not there [in WWE]. The NWA is where a lot of guys got noticed, they put wrestling on the map, and as we say all the time, it’s as wrestling should be,” Kratos said. “It’s stories, it’s characters, it’s getting that live, raw emotion from the crowd, and being able to talk and interact with the crowd and do your promos in front of them.

“Working for NWA, for me as a talent,” Kratos explained, “I don’t think it’s said enough, but every opportunity I get, I like to give a shout-out to the boys in the back, the guys that have been there, done that, and continuing to do that and just give their knowledge to guys like myself and guys that are hungry for that knowledge. NWA’s definitely a place for that. Besides the drama that they may have on TV, in the back, everyone wants to see that business and those three letters grow into what is was. It’s a great, great place to work, one for learning and two because of the wrestling and where we’re going. I’m really glad I’m a part of it, and I’m looking forward to it.”

NWA 312 takes place on Friday, April 7 and it airs on FITE. Watch our full interview with JR Kratos below:
