IYO SKY Is Queen Of The Ring, Shida Wins TBS Title, Knockouts TV Tourney — Women’s Wrestling Wrap-Up

IYO SKY wins the 2026 Queen Of The Ring tournament. Hikaru Shida claims the vacant TBS Championship. Traci Brooks introduces the TNA Knockouts TV Title, and more!

IYO SKY Wins Queen Of The Ring

A fierce Queen of the Ring tournament has resulted in a new crown holder and a major rematch for set for SummerSlam.

The finals of the 2026 tourney pitted WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan against “The Genius of the Sky” IYO SKY at WWE Night of Champions. SKY cemented her place by besting the likes of Raquel Rodriguez, Roxanne Perez, Giulia, and Lash Legend. Morgan solidified hers by conquering Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Chelsea Green, and Alexa Bliss.

The final moments of Morgan vs. SKY saw the former charge in for Oblivion, only for the latter to dodge it and land her signature knee slams. When Morgan then ascended to the top rope, SKY followed and delivered a Spanish Fly. SKY went back up top once more, this time to finish off Morgan with an Over The Moonsault for the win.

Amidst her post-match celebration, SKY danced around with her Queen of the Ring crown. She also made it clear that she’d be cashing in her earned title shot for a rematch against Morgan, in this case for the WWE Women’s World Championship at SummerSlam.

WWE SummerSlam will emanate from Minneapolis, Minnesota, on August 1 and 2. The exact night that Morgan and SKY will wrestle has yet to be announced.

Elsewhere at Night of Champions, Tiffany Stratton successfully defended her Women’s United States Championship against Jade Cargill thanks to outside help from Charlotte Flair.

Hikaru Shida Wins AEW TBS Championship

There’s a new AEW TBS Champion in town, and her name is Hikaru Shida.

After Willow Nightingale relinquished the TBS Championship due to a shoulder injury, AEW sought to crown a new holder through Survival of the Fittest. That match came on the July 1 edition of AEW Dynamite, with six women competition for the vacant title: Maika, Harley Cameron, Hikaru Shida, Persephone, Kris Statlander, and Queen Aminata.

All six earned their spot by emerging victorious in a series of qualifiers. Only one could take home the gold.

Persephone scored the first elimination in Survival of the Fittest by planting Cameron with a crucifix powerbomb, then pinning her. Shida followed suit shortly after by positioning the referee in front of her and rolling up STARDOM’S Maika for a three count.

Aminata seemed to be inching toward a pinfall of her own when she rocked Shida with a headbutt-Off With Her Head combo. Out of nowhere, though, Persephone rolled up Aminata for the overall third elimination of the bout.

Persephone and Statlander faced off in the moments after, with the former attempting another crucifix powerbomb that the latter escaped. When Statlander then set up a Staturday Night Fever, Persephone reversed it into a pin attempt. Statlander quickly countered with a pin attempt of her own, which ultimately kept Persephone down.

Evidently enraged by Statlander’s pinfall on her, Persephone retaliated by blasting her with the title belt. As Shida subsequently locked an unconscious Statlander into a submission, the referee called for the bell, rewarding Shida with the TBS Championship.
