Why Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas Is The Future Of WWE

You may hear the commentators calling Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas “The Future Of SmackDown Live”. It’s true, but he’s the future of not just the blue brand, but all of WWE. Almas is by far one of the most exciting prospects in WWE today. It’s incredible to think that when he got signed, there was a lot of buzz surrounding the former “La Sombra”.

Fans who paid attention to his work knew that he was one of the fastest rising talents in Mexico and even clashed with superstars such as Shinsuke Nakamura in the past (dethroning Nakamura for his IWGP Intercontinental title, no less!). He was unmasked before he left Mexico, likely because he knew that WWE would take the call anyway, and he’d rather lose his mask in an honorable way.

His early days of NXT were not successful by any means. It was a mix of circumstances. For one, he came out as a smiling babyface dressed in suspenders, looking as generic as one can possibly be. Secondly, he was put up against superstars who were already over with the NXT Universe. Without much going for him, the crowd was turning on him, and this was where his heel turn came into fruition. He managed to find himself as a heel and hasn’t looked back since. Here are a few reasons why El Idolo will be dominating WWE for years to come.
