It’s not hard to argue that “The Best Tag Team in the World” storyline has been Shane McMahon’s best one since returning in 2016. Sure, he’s had some really good matches, but when it comes to just a purely organic and well-built story, this one tops the list. Who would have thought that of all people to bring out the babyface side of The Miz, it would be Shane McMahon?

And when The Miz did enter Fastlane in his hometown of Cleveland, he was treated as a hero. McMahon and The Miz were never expected to beat The Usos, but they came inches away from regaining their titles. Shane McMahon would end up turning on The Miz after that, officially turning heel for the first time in over a decade. It was the right call too because The Miz is running hot as a babyface now. McMahon played his role to perfection at Fastlane.
