Io Shirai may have been defeated clean, but she looked incredible even then. Dubbed as “The Genius of the Sky”, Shirai truly lives up to her name, using aerial attacks like no one has in WWE before her. She may be among the top 5 wrestlers in WWE, male or female and her style proved to be an interesting match for Shayna Baszler‘s more ground-based game.
What was clear was that their rivalry is far from over. Shirai launched a post-match attack on Baszler, indicating that they will be feuding heading into SummerSlam weekend. We could then see the third Japanese NXT Women’s Champion.
