On the 1st July episode of Monday Night RAW, AJ Styles took the wrestling world by storm once again as he turned heel for the first time in two years. It was a little over three years ago when Styles turned heel and attacked John Cena and after his unsuccessful attempt at the United States championship, the sight seemed all too similar.

And as expected, that’s exactly what happened. AJ Styles attacked Ricochet and with the help of Gallows & Anderson, brutalized him further, cementing his heel turn and reunion with The Club. While AJ Styles is undeniably a better babyface, his heel run between 2016-17 proved that he could really hang in the spot as the top heel, even if he is a level below Daniel Bryan in that aspect.

Here are a few reasons why AJ Styles’ heel turn was the right call by WWE.
