WWE NXT Preview (7/9/24)

WWE NXT returns to the Performance Center following a terrific weekend in Canada. For those unaware, the White and Gold Brand had its Heatwave Premium Live Event at the Scotiabank Arena. The event saw the crowning of a new NXT Champion in Ethan Page.

Tonight’s episode kicks off the road to Great American Bash, which airs live August 6 on SYFY. Now that we’ve mentioned NXT’s next television special event, here’s the advertised card for tonight’s show.

Tyson Dupont & Tyriek Igwe vs. Gallus

Gallus jumped Dupont and Igwe last week on WWE NXT before their scheduled match. Dupont and Igwe tweeted during Heatwave they’d been cleared to compete. The PLE also aired a video message from Gallus confirming the match will indeed take place this Tuesday on NXT.

Karmen Petrovic vs. Arianna Grace on WWE NXT

Karmen Petrovic and Arianna Grace were victorious against Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx at Heatwave pre-show. Arianna took credit for the win after the match causing Karmen to confront her in front of NXT General Manager Ava, who booked a singles match between the two women for this week’s episode.

OTM vs. Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows

It seems the war between OTM and the OC is far from over. Both teams have been at odds ever since Gallows, Anderson and Michin showed up on WWE NXT. The former Mia Yim would put over OTM’s Jaida Parker in a Street Fight on 7/2 NXT. Tonight, Bronco Nima and Lucien Price collide with Gallows and Anderson in tag team action.

Sol Ruca vs. Fallon Henley

Sol Ruca brought the fight to Kelani Jordan at Heatwave, but failed to claim the NXT Women’s North American Championship. She’d soon find herself in a social media scuffle with Fallon Henley. Both women go one-on-one tonight on NXT.

Wes Lee addresses his future on WWE NXT

Wes Lee and Oba Femi had an instant classic in Canada this past weekend. The Kardiak Kid brought The Ruler to his knees on multiple occasion. Oba’s strength, however, proved to be just too much for Wes – who fell to a devastating Fall from Grace.

A distraught Wes was caught by NXT cameras after his loss. Lee said he didn’t know what else to do because all he ever wanted was to win back the North American Championship. What does the former tag team standout have in store for the WWE NXT Universe? We’ll find out tonight.
