WWE RAW Review

Tonight’s episode of WWE RAW featured a few interesting events as it was the fallout show after WWE TLC. To help you digest the episode, check out our five takeaways from the latest episode that showcased the red brand in our WWE RAW review for the December 17, 2018 episode.

Meet The New Boss

Vince McMahon’s big announcement was that RAW and SmackDown would now be controlled by the McMahon family. Wow! What a change from the previous leadership of…Stephanie McMahon and Shane McMahon.

While I understand that Vince’s point was that they are going to be listening to fans more going forward, I’m going to have to see it before I can believe it. I’ve heard these lines before.

WWE RAW Review – Glorious Title Change & More (12/10/18)

Well…the first segment after the new era had begun felt a lot like what we just saw last night at TLC. They practically redid the Corbin/Strowman match where the “Lone Wolf” was overwhelmed by everyone he had wronged. It was fun watching Corbin get beat down, and I’m always happy to see Kurt Angle, but it wasn’t exactly a fresh start.

Call Ups!

I’m very excited for several of the call ups from NXT. For discussion’s sake, here is where I hope they wind up. As far as SmackDown goes, I’d like to see them get Lars Sullivan (they’ve needed a big man since Cass got fired), Nikki Cross, and Heavy Machinery (since SmackDown’s tag scene needs some new blood). Meanwhile, I feel like EC3  and Lacey Evans would be perfect for RAW.

Sure, she ruined the ending to the WWE TLC main event, but RAW proved that she’s still very much a babyface. It makes sense after all, both Becky and Charlotte are very much “tweeners,” and they both have personal animosity with Rousey. For as bored as I was by the Nia Jax feud, the potential matchups between Rousey and Lynch or Flair are still incredibly exciting. WWE has gold on their hands as long as they don’t fumble things by the time WrestleMania takes place.

Plus, I admire the fighting spirit that she showed by saying she’ll defend her championship on RAW after every pay-per-view. This is something we can all get behind.

Women’s Gauntlet

Letting the women shine in the last hour of RAW was an excellent decision. The women’s gauntlet match was quite entertaining with Bayley having a gutsy performance, Ember Moon looking great (but ultimately losing due to her inexperience), and Natalya ultimately winning a chance at Rousey’s championship.

It should be an excellent match, and was a great way to cap off what was a far better than average episode of RAW.
