2011 WWE Draft – Exclusive In-Depth Analysis, Pt. 2

Cash: This year’s draft is going to be interesting.  We’ll get to see just how much Vince wants to shift people around compared to the previous few years.  With so many top stars gone now, they need to strategically put guys in place and give them an opportunity to shine to their full potential.  Many times in the past, especially with the mid-card guys or lower, a draft rarely means anything for them.  This is the first year we’ve had a draft where WWE had already started building new stars to the degree they have lately.  Let’s see if that trend continues and whether or not the draft can help them do that.  Here’s a few more picks from me:

3. John Morrison – send him back to Smackdown and let him continue establishing himself as a top star.  I just don’t see it yet on Raw.

2. Evan Bourne – if Sin Cara doesn’t leave, let Bourne go.  He can job to Smackdown stars just the same, right?

1. Kane – he’s getting to the end of his career.  Let him finish it on the biggest wrestling show in the world.

LaBar: 3. Kofi Kingston- If there is any want or hope to do anything with Kofi than he needs to get off Smackdown. I have a feeling if he doesn’t get back to RAW than he will eventually not be in the WWE anymore.

2. Drew McIntyre- Again, seems that he doesn’t have a prominent place on Smackdown, so a move to RAW allows a fresh start and chance to see what his full potential is with the company and if he really is "The Chosen One."

1. Daniel Bryan- I have said it over and over that he is best bell to bell talent the WWE has. He may not have the charisma that Sports Entertainment requires but he can entertain fans. Perhaps with the right back story or tweak to him and his character they can find a good spot for him in the Sports Entertainment arena. But he is as good as he is and being on the RAW roster often finds him in a 3 minute match, that is if he gets a match and isn’t left off or demoted to Superstars. Put him on Smackdown and at least let him be on the show that allows for more wrestling and potential to develop a long lasting character and impression on the WWE.

Paglino: instead of listing out who I think should move within the mid-card as I agree with a lot of what’s been said by Cash and LaBar, I’ll go out on a limb and say this:

The ENTIRE Divas division should be moved to Smackdown, and the Divas title should be a Smackdown-only title. Likewise, the entire Tag Team Division should be moved to Raw, and the Tag Team Titles should be Raw-only belts. This would allow for more competition between tag teams and Divas, and provide more depth to both divisions. Why space out the few talented Divas and Tag Teams over two shows when you can concentrate them on one show? I know it’s a move WWE most likely will never make, but it seems too logical of an idea not to offer it here in this column.
