Nick’s 1/11 Raw Review: The Good, The Bad, & The Wrestling

Eve Torres vs Katie Lea Burchill: It amazes me that someone like Alicia Fox gets a push in WWE but Katie Lea doesn’t. Katie Lea has a great look, is a natural heel, and is a good ring worker. During her bout last night, she even managed to make Eve look somewhat impressive, and Eve is very lackluster in the ring. I suppose this Divas tournament is both a blessing and a curse at the same time. Yes, it gives the Divas some type of purpose on Raw, but it also exposes how thin the female talent pool is on the show.

DX vs Mike Tyson and Chris Jericho: I realize this wasn’t a great technical match by any means, but for nostalgia’s sake, it was a lot of fun. I do hope that Jericho remains on Raw, and right now I am enjoying his gimmick of trying to figure out how to remain on the show each week, but at some point it would be nice if WWE gave him a reason to stay so that he could get more involved in story lines on the show. He works very well with the guest hosts each week, but he would be a nice addition to the main event picture on Raw as well. I guess it’s tough for him having to juggle that spot on Smackdown as well, but if anyone can do it, it’s Jericho.

Nick was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and lived there until the age of 18, when he decided to pack his flack jacket and move to New York City.
Nick attended New York University and graduated in 2001 with a degree in Drama.
Nick first entered the internet wrestling community back in 2004 when he became the co-host of The Voice of Wrestling Radio Show. From there, Nick made the transition from radio personality to editor when he began working with WrestleZone in 2008.
Nick is a member of two Off-Broadway theatre companies, Another Urban Riff, and the Drama Desk Award winning Godlight Theatre Company. Nick has appeared in over a dozen Off-Broadway plays since he moved to New York City, and has shot several short and feature length films. In 2010, he completed principle photography on a film titled "How to Score Your Life," which also features TNA Knockout ODB.
Inspiration in his life has come from many people including his family, Woody Allen, Steven Spielberg, Jack Nicholson, The Beatles, and of course, Lassie.
