WZ’s “Top Ten” Returns: WWE Hell in a Cell Matches

Number 5: Batista vs. Triple H "Vengeance" Las Vegas, Nevada 2005

With former friends and members of Evolution, many gave Triple H credit for carrying and building up Batista to a World champion material superstar. I would agree, but I felt like this match gave us more of a look of how powerful Batista actually was. He was not completely great in the ring, but I loved the back story to this match, as well as the time they gave the feud. Both men left it all out, and the match showed how good Batista could actually be. He will never be a 5 star wrestler, but the look, the intensity, and the ability to learn off of H was so critical in his development. A match that featured more of Batista dishing out the offense, and then carried the last 10 minutes by Triple H. Both men showed intensity, and this was one of the last Hell in a Cell match that pushed the physical limits of two heavyweights.
