"CM Punk's recent rise to super-stardom has been remarkable. He was given an opportunity and it was his abilities that allowed him to take advantage of it. Punk's success in recent months was due to a combination of good timing and delivery. Fans already knew what Punk was capable of in the ring, but Vince McMahon allowing him to verbally assault him, his family, and the entire company harkened back to the Steve Austin era. It was fresh and creative. WWE may have given him the freedom, but only Punk could have taken the ball and ran with it as well and as far as he did. It's no surprise that our fans have ranked Punk as high as they have."
