What’s NOT Bothering Me: Ryberg, BFG Series, Johnny Ace

James Storm BFG Series#2. The Bound For Glory Series

Last year’s tournament for the number one contendership to the TNA World Heavyweight Championship was a mess. It was impossible to follow. Certain stars had more matches than others, Crimson being taken out after such a strong start was pointless, etc.

But if you remove all of those shenanigans, you could have a pretty good annual event that’s exclusive to your company. TNA needs more of those types of special attractions.

As it stands right now, Mr. Anderson is the only Series participant without two qualifying matches. He has one. That’s easy to understand and follow, so far.

Keeping it simple is the ONLY way this thing works in the end.

The one thing they did do right last year is consistently remind fans of the standings, the rules, the benefits of winning certain matches, etc. It wasn’t the saving grace because fans still had a hard time keeping up with all the changes, but it made it at least tolerable. We’ll have to have more of the same this year.

James Storm has jumped out to an early, big lead. He’s the clear favorite with the most to gain by winning this thing. He practically guaranteed victory as well with his return promo.

If he’s the next guy you want to push to the top, then he should unquestionably win this tournament. As I stated yesterday in my “Stars in Progress” column, the obvious choice isn’t necessarily the wrong one.
