Chris Sabin

Title This: Impact Wrestling Reaction May 30th, 2013

Chavo Guerrero, Hernandez, James Storm, and Gunner defeated Bad Influence, Bobby Roode, and Austin Aries in a match that was setup perfectly for the tag team championship match on Sunday. It was simple, yet effective. I enjoyed how Gunner was booked in this match because he is the wildcard in the entire match. We know how strong he is, but this showed that the match was focused around his abilities. The exchange he had with Roode was really good. He kept the pace of the match up and made quick tags when needed. Since Hernandez made Aries tap out, it assured me that the faces would not retain the championships on Sunday. They need to switch it up to keep intrigue and balance in this thriving division.

Taryn Terrell and Chris Sabin defeated Kenny King and Gail Kim in another good bout. I am still confused as to why Kim and Taryn are on the card, but not the Knockouts champion. That makes NO sense to me. Anyways, the end of the match told the story. Kenny King attacked Sabin with the belt, but Suicide came out. He and Sabin stared each other down. We know Ultimate X is going to be entertaining, but there is no great story behind the three guys. This is the best they could do with Suicide, who I am still not sure why he is in the championship match. That’s what happens when you made a title defended in 3 ways all the time. That stipulation is a little awkward and hard to book.
