Bully RayThe Main Events

Sting and Joseph Park defeated Bully Ray and Devon to kick off the night. This match was not that great. I understand the thought process, but I really just do not like the James Park character. I really thought it would go away when Abyss returned, but they continue to use Park. They need to see Park somehow morph into Abyss, put the mask on, and take over Impact. That would give them the biggest impact, no pun intended. The match seemed much slower, with all four guys really feeling the others out. Team 3D really focused on Park throughout the match, which made the challenger able to get the hot tag and work over. Sting had no other choice but to beat Devon. The faces, challengers, needed to pick up the win to make us think that they will win on Sunday. I really see a slight decline in the chemistry of Sting in the ring. He is getting older and needs to work with a much slower pace than we have seen him in the past. The match on Sunday will be full of interferences and distractions. Let’s hope Matt Morgan saves us all and comes out to cause a distinctive finish. They need to build some other talent up immediately.

AJ Styles defeated Ken Anderson via Disqualification. Once again, I love the character change of AJ Styles at this point in his career. He is becoming a guy that is able to be taken seriously and not a squeaky clean face. This match was pretty basic, with both guys hitting their big spots. Styles comes out in black, with a leather jacket and black ring gear. He still does the hand pose, which I think needs to be dropped. He needs to be boring, if that makes sense. No gimmick and no poses will ultimately make Styles 100 percent believable. At the end of the night, Styles and Angle brawl, while Park and Devon fight. The locker room of faces clears out, but Aces and Eights stand tall.

-For what the night was, it did not necessarily make me HAVE to buy the Pay Per View, but I WANT to buy it because of what can happen. It may fall flat, but the night will have great action from the beginning of the night to the very end. I am excited for it, and the ending showed me that Aces and Eights may lose a few matches, but the biggest one of all should be on their side when Sunday concludes.
