Isenberg and Killam Run Down the World Heavyweight Championship Money in the Bank Participants

Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose

Josh Isenberg: His promo on Smackdown was very telling. Dean Ambrose, the current United States Champion, has to be the odds on favorite. With continued victories and meaningful feuds, Ambrose has focused his attention on the match and on Christian. Ever since Christian came back, it looks like WWE wants Ambrose to feud with him. That scares me when I try and pick him winning this match. I can see this going three ways for Ambrose. He can climb the ladder and capture the briefcase with help from The Shield. I can also see Ambrose coming so close only to losing to a guy like Cesaro or Barrett. This will give Christian and Ambrose, two losers of the ladder matches, feuding for the Intercontinental Championship. Lastly, I can see Ambrose climbing the ladder only for the lights to go out and a gong hitting. This distraction could set up a 6 man tag team match at Summerslam with the returning Undertaker. It will be interesting to see if WWE quickly pulls the trigger on Ambrose. I won't be surprised, but WWE realizes they have plenty of time to make him champion.

Mike Killam: Dean Ambrose is very, very good. He's not ready to be world champion, but neither was Johh Cena when they threw him into a program with John Layfield. But the fact is, they turned him face and he rose to the challenge to become one of the biggest stars in the history of pro wrestling. I'm not ready to predict the same level of success for Ambrose yet, but he's one of the few guys I think I'd say WWE would be safe to pull that trigger with. He's been in WWE for less than a year, but he's already the stand-out star in a dominant faction that has wrestled John Cena, Kane, The Undertaker, Sheamus, Randy Orton, Ryback and Chris Jericho. Normally, I'm not a fan of giving newcomers Money in the Bank because I feel like it puts unrealistic expectations on them too early in their career, and can stunt their natural growth in the business, both internally and with the fans. But Ambrose has that "it factor" and I feel he could actually take the briefcase, use Christian as a launching point at SummerSlam, and cash in on his future.
