New Movie Idea: “Get Him to the Performance Center”

NXT star Lego Leo Kruger has apparently been given a new character. His new role will be similar to that of Russel Brand’s rock star persona Aldous Snow in the films “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and “Get Him to the Greek”. I’m going to be honest…this is awesome. “Get Him to the Greek” is a criminally under-rated comedy. For reasons I still can’t fully explain, it is one of my favorite movies, and I’ve seen it at least 30 times. I’m actually watching it again as I type this, because just writing out this story gave me the itch. It’s easily the best thing Aziz Ansari and Sean Combs has ever done. Well…at least Sean Combs.

As for the former Leo Kruger…he’s pretty OK. I like him. I had heard earlier this year that he was in line to be called up to the WWE roster at some point before the end of the year. Obviously that didn’t happen. If the new character helps get him there, more power to him and the creative team. After people like Husky Harris have been totally re-invented and brought back to television, I have complete faith in the NXT system right now.

Sting to Re-Sign with TNA Wrestling?

file_186169_1_stingtnawrestlingAccording to the most recent rumors, a lot of people inside TNA expect “The Icon” to re-sign with TNA Wrestling when his contract expires at the end of this year. He’s already booked to compete at TNA’s Genesis special in January, so he’s obviously open to signing short extensions, at least until he’s written off. That being said, TNA wrote off Hulk Hogan with as much as a five minute segment at the end of an episode of Impact Wrestling, just weeks before their Bound for Glory pay-per-view. If Sting wants to leave, he can certainly leave with very little impact to the weekly product, no pun intended. Do I want Sting to stay in TNA? Not especially. It’s not because I want to see that “Undertaker-Sting” dream match that everyone thought was supposed to happen the last three years. It’s because I don’t really enjoy the work Sting puts into Impact Wrestling anymore, and I want to see their roster forced to grow and mature. Give those segments to younger up-and-comers. It’s nothing against Sting, who is a legit legend and a national treasure to the wrestling industry. I just want to see what happens when a company like TNA has to stop relying on talents that have been their bread and butter for a decade.

More John Cena-Hulk Hogan Nonsense

Here’s the original story

According to The Wrestling Observer, when John Cena remarked to TMZ a few weeks back that Hulk Hogan is too old to get in the ring with him, it’s being said that Cena would never have made a remark like that unless it was to potentially set something up between him and Hogan. Despite ongoing rumors that Hogan might be returning to WWE for WrestleMania 30, people close to Hogan are saying there’s no way he should try to wrestle one more match.

So Cena wouldn’t say something unless it wasn’t true? That’s the take away from this TMZ story? And by the way, taking anything away from a TMZ report, which was likely conducted by a fan on the street with a smart phone, is ridiculously in it of itself. Using backwards logic to determine that Cena did indeed have plans to set something up with Hulk Hogan, let alone logic from a TMZ article, is more than a stretch. It’s ludicrous. Now, the Wrestling Observer reported this, so there’s a small smidgen of legitimacy. Still, if Hogan and Cena do interact at WrestleMania 30, it won’t be because of a TMZ story.
