Bad Influence – Step Up

Christopher Daniels and Kazarian are officially headed HOME to Ring of Honor for their debut on live PPV next month. Technically, Daniels has been announced. Kazarian – or we're assuming it's Kazarian – still has a few taped appearances for TNA in the libary, but it's likely he'll be announced when that blows over.

Big step up.

What's that? A step up, you say? How is two of the best wrestlers, and arguably the most entertaining tag team in the biz-a-ness LEAVING a major wrestling company a step up?

The same way AJ Styles leaving TNA was a step up. Kaz and Daniels have been in that company forever. Whatever success TNA had after Dixie Carter's family stepped in, they owe in large part to the two of them, and guys like AJ Styles. It's pretty clear to me Daniels was never going to get that major singles push again. I'm assuming they were making too much money from their tenure, and were asked to take lighter deals – why should they?

AJ got out, and proved there's money to be made elsewhere in wrestling. He's the current IWGP Heavyweight Champion. He's THE man, leading THE faction – it's not in America though, so most of "our" fans don't see it as a big deal. Bad Influence coming to Ring of Honor is good for business. It's good for us, good for them, and really good for TNA too, as they have to step up and start making stars for the future. Hell, they need to start making stars for the NOW. Since Kaz and Daniels left, we've seen Robbie E and Jessie Godderz really step up in their roles, and that's what SHOULD happen.

So yes, a step up. A big one. And one that couldn't come at a better time, if you ask me.
