WWE Star Unveils New Finisher During SmackDown Debut — Spoiler

Blake Monroe will finally make her WWE SmackDown debut on the June 26 episode. The episode was taped on June 23. After weeks of hype packages, Monroe arrived at the O2 Arena and made a statement by attacking Giulia. She also appeared to unveil a new finishing move during the attack.

Monroe’s first major SmackDown appearance came after a match between Giulia and Kiana James. The match was another chapter in the ongoing rivalry between the former allies, who recently went their separate ways.

As soon as the match ended, Monroe stormed the ring and attacked Giulia from behind. She then hit her with a powerful Neutralizer, leaving Giulia down in the ring.

It looks like The Neutralizer is set to become Monroe’s new finishing move on the main roster. The move involves lifting an opponent into a gut-wrench position before driving them face-first into the mat.

The move was different from the finisher Monroe had been using during her time in NXT. During her NXT run, Monroe mainly used the Glamorous DDT, also known as the Glamour Shot. Before joining WWE, she also used several other finishers throughout her career, including the MMKO, a TKO variation, the Tombstone-style Happily Ever After, and a lifting facebuster called Mayday.

Wrestlers often change finishers when moving into a new phase of their careers, and The Neutralizer could represent a new dawn for Monroe as she begins her SmackDown journey.

The appearance also paid off weeks of anticipation. WWE had been promoting Monroe with a series of “coming soon” videos, but fans had mixed feelings about the slow rollout. Many even compared her debut to that of an ex-WWE star who eventually became a meme.

Aside from a short backstage segment with Chelsea Green, Monroe had mostly been limited to promotional videos until now. Monroe will be hoping that the fresh finisher adds luster to a new beginning.
