The Great Sanada and James Storm defeated Austin Aries and Tajiri
Aries locks in Last Chancery pretty quickly until James Storm breaks it up. He hits a flying forearm to Storm and continues to work with Sanada in the ring. Aries hits a Suicide Dive onto both men on the outside. Storm and The Great Sanada isolate Aries and Storm tries for the Eye of the Storm. He hits a Discus forearm. Tajiri hits multiple kicks and a springboard elbow for a two count. Sanada hits a chop to Tajiri. Tajiri hits a big kick for a two count and Storm gets back in the ring. Aries over Storm, while Tajiri works on Storm. Storm hits a low blow and throws Aries to the outside. He hits Tajiri in the neck and then Tajiri locks in the Tarantula. Sanada misses a miss and Tajiri locks in the Tarantula.
The ending of the match came when Storm spit beer into Tajiri’s face and then he hits a big kick for the win.
This match was really good. I was skeptical of Tajiri at first, but the guy can still go as fast as Sanada can. Sanada will continue to be built up and pushed until Bound For Glory takes place in Japan. That is simply smart booking and logical story telling. I can easily see Sanada making a face turn before Bound For Glory, with James Storm being the heel American Redneck. That would be really interesting and hopefully help out a culture who is being rewarded with a PPV event from TNA.
The Hardy’s defeated The Wolves and Team 3D
Team 3D start out working on the other teams, throwing them into the steel steps and the guard rail. Devon hits his patented head butt from the top rope onto Matt Hardy. They yell to get the tables. The Wolves dive to the outside but get hit with the table. The Hardy’s kick the table into the faces of Team 3D as we head to a break. Matt and Bully exchange right hands. Edwards it set up on the table and Davey punches Jeff on the top rope. He hits a superplex and Devon moves the table out of the way. Eddie punches Devon and Bully Ray sets up an electric chair. Devon comes off the top and the table is moved once again. Bully Ray gets kicked and Davey kicks both men. They hit an explosive double shoulder block to knock one of the champions out.
Jeff Hardy hits Whisper in the Wind onto both members of Team 3D. Jeff misses a spot and puts himself through a table. The Wolves hits a double Suicide Dive onto Team 3D. Davey hits a wonderful cross body from the top rope. Team 3D get back into the ring and clears it of The Wolves. Matt lies on the table. Both Wolves head up top, but Bully and Jeff make the save. Jeff takes out Bully and Matt hits a Twist of Fate while Edwards hangs on the ropes. Jeff hits a Swanton Bomb to pick up the win for his team.
This was not as good as the first match, but that isn’t saying much. This was another excellent match with plenty of spots. You have to love the high flying ability and the combination of ground and pound from Team 3D. Jeff and Matt keep the explosive moves going throughout, while you have Eddie and Davey take the risks. Bully Ray and Devon, while order and a bit slower, are still able to keep pace. Another fantastic three way match between the three best tag teams in all of professional wrestling. Take notes, WWE.
