If you listened to IWC Radio last night you would have heard me suggest that a returning Sami Zayn (if he’s able) would be an ideal situation in another open challenge at Hell in a Cell. If Zayn managed to pick up the victory against Cena he could then take his time off and return later in the year to continue the feud. You also have the option of mixing Zayn and Owens on the main roster. Dare I even say, you could look at uniting the mid card championships as well if they felt that was a viable option for the company.
Of course, WWE could just have Rollins regain the Championship tonight and create intrigue for any future Network Specials where people might actually believe that a championship can change hands on these specials. Tonight’s show has a Rebellion or Insurrextion feel about it. I say this because these were PPV’s which WWE held in the UK with a stacked card but you knew that titles would rarely ever change hands as they weren’t seen as important enough. The Network Specials like tonight could go a long way if they actually have something happen on the show rather than it feeling like a glorified house show.
Or of course, Cena could just retain, and never take any time off. Either way, tonight’s network special is an opportunity to do something that will get people talking and will help WWE in the long term move away from the PPV model they seemingly want to distance themselves from.
Check out last night’s IWC Radio where we had a great laugh looking at tonight’s MSG event, tomorrows Bound for Glory and everything in-between. You can follow the show on Twitter @TheIWCRadio and you can follow me @BeansOnToastUK.
