Isenberg Reacts: Impact Wrestling “World Title Series or Matt Hardy?”

Trying To Understand The World Title Series

impact wrestlingI can complain for days about Impact Wrestling, but I am going to leave it at that. Let’s take a look at the groups and who will come out on top.

The Knockouts division is one of great intrigue to me. If the sole purpose is to find a “heavyweight” champion, there is nobody else aside from Awesome Kong that should come out on top. For years, she has been creatively booked wrong. There is no woman on this roster that could realistically beat her, nor should they. If you want to try and “change the game,” Kong is the only option here.

Group United Kingdom HAS to have Drew Galloway come out on top. Rockstar Spud, albeit a great underdog, needs to carry the X-Division. Grado is good, but not there yet. Bram has legal issues and you simply cannot have him winning consistently. So, Galloway needs to shine. He was just in the main event, so this is the perfect time for him to continue to pile up wins and look dominant in a talented, yet undersized group.

Group Wildcard is all about Shera. From defeating James Storm to becoming a new gimmick, this is the guy that has a future. Nothing against the other men, but Shera is a “TNA” guy. He needs to be bred into what they want. Kenny King, always a favorite, is out the door soon. I would really like to get an extended look at Aiden O’Shea. Honestly, I have  not seen enough to give a solid opinion.

Lastly, the world champion will be coming from this group. Austin Aries has “been there and done that.” Bobby Lashley is so underutilized right now. His championship reign was DOMINANT. After, they have not known what to do with him. He is the closest thing to Brock Lesnar, so book him just like that. Make his matches mean something. Mr. Anderson has a shot at winning this thing. From face to heel to face to heel again, Anderson is unique in terms of always connecting with the crowd and able to get others over. He is still a notable name in the company and could surprise everyone.

I do think this is a very crowded and congested road for Ethan Carter to reclaim his championship. How will it all pan out? How long will this be? When will Matt Hardy get the title back? So many questions need to be answered.

They get points for being creative. They lose points for the rushed and illogical decision to drop the title.
