Matt Hardy says he and Jeff Hardy would love to have one last match with their greatest rivals.
Speaking to SiriusXM Sports, WWE legend and current TNA star Matt Hardy said Edge and Christian are the Hardys’ greatest rivals. While they had their greatest moments, including their iconic TLC matches with them and the Dudley Boyz, Hardy believes he and his brother had their best matches with E&C.
“I think when it’s all said and done, Edge and Christian will go down as our greatest rivals,” Matt Hardy said. “We made each other in the tag team ladder match, No Mercy 1999. The Dudleys are right up there as well, and it’s hard because all the TLC stuff are Hardys, Dudleys, Edge & Christian, and we will always be associated because of that.
Matt Hardy wants The Hardys to retire Edge & Christian as they did with the Dudleys
He also noted that the Hardys would love to have one last match against Edge and Christian before they call it a career, and hopes to retire them as they did with the Dudleys at TNA Bound for Glory 2025.
“But I think when it came down to having great matches with one another, I think our greatest matches were with Edge and Christian.” When asked if he’d like to have one last match with them, Matt Hardy said, “I would love to get one more match with them before it’s all said and done, and maybe we’ll send them home just like we did the Dudleys.”
Edge and Christian are currently competing in All Elite Wrestling as Adam Copeland and Christian Cage. They defeated FTR in a New York Street Fight I Quit match to become the new AEW World Tag Team Champions at the Double or Nothing PPV this past Sunday.
