Is It About Heel vs. Face?

wwe raw The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar kicked off Raw, with the help of Stone Cold getting the crowd to pop early. The Undertaker came out and talked about destroying Lesnar at Hell in a Cell, which prompted him and Paul Heyman to come out. They made it perfectly clear that Brock Lesnar is going to be viewed as the “heel” while The Undertaker goes to being a hero and the “face” of this feud.

Why? Paul Heyman continually brought up breaking the streak, creating boos from the crowd. The Undertaker says he is a man that has nothing to lose. Alfred Konuwa of Forbes.com said it perfectly in the excerpt below.

“WWE is better served staying the course with The Undertaker as a villain. Even if some fans cheer for a heel Undertaker out of blind loyalty, the cheers will come with more emotion and passion, which is an upgrade to the confusion and apathy created by flip-flopping characters. A heel Undertaker also establishes continuity stemming from his recent actions.

With Undertaker now playing the role of the hero out of nowhere, this does not represent the end to an epic feud that changed the course of wrestling history. Instead, this match now seems like a one-off.”

These echo my thoughts as well. I would rather neither of them be viewed as a heel or face, but it was made clear the this feud that changed history has been dragged through the mud and the match at Hell in a Cell has intrigue, but no significance.

The Shield Reunites For One Night

Seth Rollins joins former teammates of Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose to take on Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman. Yes, Seth FREAKING Rollins teamed up against a guy who he feuded with all summer and a guy whom he cashed in on at WrestleMania 32 to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

It was a cool sight to see them together, but it made NO SENSE WHATSOEVER. What also made no sense is that Kane was nowhere to be found. Give me a break about him being suspended. Terrible idea and did NOTHING for me to HAVE to see Rollins vs. Kane. It was a really questionable booking decision, one that should not have been made tonight.
