WWE SmackDown Star Wants to Revive Former NXT Gimmick

Tiffany Stratton may be looking to freshen up her WWE character. To do that, she wants to revisit an old idea from the early days of her NXT run.

The WWE Women’s United States Champion recently revealed she’d like to plant the seeds for a gimmick that never fully made it to television as originally planned.

While nothing has been confirmed, Stratton admitted she is interested in pitching the concept again now that she’s part of the SmackDown roster.

Tiffany Stratton wants to revive her “Daddy’s Little Rich Girl” character

Speaking with Maxx Fuller of KFAN, Stratton reflected on her original “Daddy’s Little Rich Girl” character. She explained why it never reached its full potential in NXT.

“Honestly, I may re-pitch the daddy’s little rich girl stuff,” Stratton said. “I think the reason why HBK didn’t wanna go with it, I think, was because they just didn’t have a daddy for me. There was never a payoff so maybe I can have a daddy now on SmackDown, and they can do a payoff.”

According to Stratton, the character was initially developed during creative meetings with Road Dogg, Ryan Katz, and Gabe Sapolsky. The idea received a positive reaction. However, Shawn Michaels ultimately decided not to move forward with the full concept because there wasn’t a long-term storyline to support it.

Tiffany Stratton also explained the inspiration behind the character. Stratton noted that she wanted to stand out from the rest of the NXT women’s division.

“I kind of wanted to just lean into being kind of the more girly girl, but could also kick ass in the ring,” she said, adding that Paris Hilton’s public persona inspired the concept.

At this stage, there’s no indication who the proposed “daddy” figure could be if WWE revisits the idea on SmackDown. For now, the concept remains just that — a pitch. Still, if Stratton gets another chance to present it, she may be hoping the second time is the charm. After all, every great gimmick deserves at least one more shot at grabbing the brass ring.
