The Matt Hardy We Need

EC3 goes to suplex Hardy through both tables, but Hardy suplex EC3 back into the ring. Hardy with three running leg drops. Coming out of the commercial break Hardy knocks EC3 down with a ladder. Hardy bounces EC3 head off the turnbuckle. Hardy goes to the outside and brings out another table. Hardy rolls the table into the ring. Hardy sets up the table in the middle of the ring and also sets up the ladder. Hardy goes for the Twist of Fate, but EC3 counters with a clothesline. EC3 puts Hardy on the table. EC3 puts Hardy through the table diving off the ladder inside the ring.

Hardy gets back up at the count of nine. EC3 goes for the TKO, but Hardy counters with the Twist of Fate. Hardy with a low blow to EC3. Hardy with the Twist of Fate to EC3 off the ring apron through the two tables outside the ring. EC3 gets back up at the count of 9. Hardy brings out multiple chairs. Hardy puts EC3 head in the middle of a chair. Hardy connects with the Twist of Fate to EC3 with the chair on his neck. EC3 gets back up at the count of 9. Reby gives Hardy a hammer out of her diaper bag. Hardy goes to attack EC3 with the hammer, but EC3 lows blows Hardy. EC3 with the 1 % Percenter. Tyrus comes down to the ring. Tyrus picks EC3 up and connects with the Big Ending. EC3 gets back up at the count of nine. Hardy attacks EC3 with the title belt to pickup the victory.

After the match, Hardy cuts an incredible promo about winning the title for him, taking what is his and continues to turn full heel on the fans and the company. His wife spits at EC3 and the new champion celebrates.

This was an excellent match with an excellent ending. The screw job was great and the double turn was perfectly executed. At the beginning of the night, the crowd loved Matt. At the end, nobody was cheering him and a chorus of boos echoed. It was pure, entertaining and the Matt Hardy we have been waiting for.

Yes, Matt is great as a face because of the connection with the general wrestling fan base. His heel character is and has always been stellar. From his dark turn on his brother heading into WrestleMania 25 and further more in his time in ROH, Matt gets the business. He gets what and, more importantly, how to say things to upset the fans. He is a character with multiple levels of heel. A family man, a loving husband, yet a full heel? EXCELLENT.

With his model wife on his side and a monster in Tyrus, the opportunities are endless right now for Matt Hardy and TNA.
