Hell in a Cell

The Undertaker vs. Shane McMahon

If you’d told anybody even six months ago that this would be the kind of match we’d be seeing at Wrestlemania, it’s likely nobody would believe you. This clash between the two former Corporate Ministry stalwarts came seemingly from nowhere, possibly leaving bookies scrambling to come up with the current odds -2/7 for an Undertaker win, 5/2 for Shane O’ Mac.

Either way, it’s a tough one to call. If The Deadman does leave one of his trademark matches with his hand raised, then doesn’t that create a bit of anti-climax to Shane’s recent return? If McMahon wins, then the middle-aged corporate executive who hasn’t wrestled a match in years (and even then only as a part-timer), will have done what countless veterans from Shawn Michaels and Triple H to CM Punk, Batista, and Edge have previously failed to do; beating The Undertaker at Wrestlemania.

No Holds Barred

Dean Ambrose vs. Brock Lesnar

Top betting sites are currently offering 12/5 odds on Dean Ambrose achieving the almost impossible task of beating The Beast Incarnate, whilst former UFC Champion Lesnar comes with 3/10 odds of taking The Lunatic Fringe on a one-way trip to suplex city.

Whatever the final outcome, this no holds barred match has all the potential to take home match of the night honours, and could well be the match that firmly cements Ambrose as a top flight performer fans are prepared to accept far more readily than his ‘brother’ Roman Reigns.

The Rest of the Card

At time of writing, none of the major sports betting websites had any odds offered for the Wrestlemania 32 undercard, though as ‘The Granddaddy of Them All’ gets ever closer, that should certainly change. Expect to see the bookmakers pick The Usos as favourites for a win over the The Dudleys, Becky Lynch for an emotional win over Charlotte and Sasha Banks in the Divas triple threat, and The New Day to get the best of The League of Nations. Elsewhere, there’s a good chance the bookmakers will pick Ryback as the odds on favourite to dethrone US Champion Kalisto, and if Big Show is back in the battle royal this year, there’s a good likelihood he’ll be picked to make it two wins in two years.

Place your bets folks, things are about to get interesting as the Road to Wrestlemania draws ever closer to April 3rd, 2016.
