The Uso’s took on The Ascension on Smackdown, just to keep reminding us that they have a match at WrestleMania. As announced, it will NOW be in the Kickoff show, which is the absolute right call. There is no level of real importance for this match, but it does give the fans an opportunity to cheer for the teams, see The Dudley Boyz back on a big stage and warm the crowd up with a potential table spot.

As for The Dudley Boyz, their backstage interview bashing the Samoan family was good. Very old school and traditional heel work, with pieces of the Bully Ray from TNA coming out. This will be a fun match and a fun start to WrestleMania. It just does not and should not have a place on the main card.

Intercontinental Championship Opponents

Dolph Ziggler and Sami Zayn picked up a win over Kevin Owens and The Miz. In a great back and forth tag team match, you could really see what WWE is trying to do with this Ladder Match. Shockingly, Zack Ryder was the last man standing with a Rough Ryder to Kevin Owens. We are realists here, right? We know WWE is giving him a “standing tall” moment on Smackdown because half as many people watch it and he will not get anything close to that on Raw Monday. Maybe they let Ziggler or Zayn be the last one laughing on Raw, but this is all about Kevin Owens.

I think he is the odds on favorite to win at WrestleMania. They MUST continue to showcase a path of dominance for Owens, a guy that deserves the big stage all to himself. It is KOMania and it is going to be about him stuffing it in everyone’s faces when he beats SIX other men. What does a win for the other guys do for them separately? Not as much as it will do for Owens. A great segment and more hype to a match that was put together and not needing 6 weeks of build. Fast is good for this storyline.
