A British Point of View: WrestleMania 32 Diary Part Two

I understand that people were a little disappointed with the show overall and I had a few moments where I was scratching my head but if you ever get chance to experience such an event live with such a big crowd, then you should do so. The atmosphere alone was incredible.

One thing that did seem strange to me was the large screen in the Stadium telling fans what to chant. It felt like a basketball game where the video screens try to get you to ‘make some noise’ when the opposing side gets a free throw. However, in this setting it just seemed weird. For example, when Charlotte put Becky Lynch into the Figure 8, the screen said ‘Woooooooo!’. Obviously, everyone reacted. That’s not a problem, except that everyone just reacted to the heel in the match which might have come across a little strange on TV? Anyway, I’m being nit-picky.

The screen’s other moment was when it was counting how many times Brock Lesnar delivered a suplex to Dean Ambrose, this included correcting the crowd when everyone was chanting seven, it stated he had delivered eight.

The show managed to capture all the moments most fans would have wanted. We got appearances and involvement from The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mick Foley and Shawn Michaels. That’s not to mention the incredible sight of Shane McMahon taking a bump from the top of the cell.

I was really surprised that Shane McMahon and Undertaker didn’t close out the show and wasn’t surprised to see people leaving in the main event. The crowd was so angry with Roman Reigns and the same happened the following night on RAW. I can’t help but feel sorry for Roman. As you know from my previous articles, I suggested small things that would help him to connect with the crowd but instead we get someone who is just happy to have a smug grin and ride out the boo’s.
