The New Day and Cesaro defeated The League of Nations and The Miz
After MizTV, which still sucks but was better with Maryse, an impromptu 8-man tag team match takes place. As you would expect, all men got their fair share of the offense. Even though The League of Nations is still somewhat feuding with The New Day, this was all about building up The Miz and Cesaro. These guys could have a really good 2-3 month feud which culminates into Cesaro winning the championship. I do like how they have repackaged him, somewhat, and made him connect more with the crowds. He has been with some hot crowds over the past few weeks, which is a huge help when he gets to smaller cities. When casual fans hear his reaction on television, they should tend to agreeing with what they hear.
Where do The League of Nations go from here? What is their role? Will they become champions and help get over Enzo/Cass or The Vaudevillains? Unlikely. I hope that Apollo Crews or someone else can get a shot at one of the league of Nations guys, but I do not expect them to be around much longer. With all of their talent, you would think that they have some sort of clear path or storyline. They simply do not.
Battle For Women’s Championship
Natalya teamed with Paige, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch to take on Charlotte, Summer Rae, Naomi and Tamina. I thought that the match was a little too long, with too much down time between moves. There really did not need to be an 8 women’s match if all it was going to do is have Nattie get Charlotte to tap out. Also, Emma should have been involved. She feuds with Becky, but they add Naomi and Tamina over her? That really did not make much sense to me. All in all, an average segment that showed WWE has plenty of talent in the division, but cramming them into one segment might not be the best plan of attack for those who are not aiming for a championship match right now.
