Dana Brooke vs. Becky Lynch
Brooke starts off hot with aggressive knees to her stomach and then throws her into the corner. Becky does get some offense in, hitting a reverse DDT and then hitting Charlotte off the apron and onto the floor. With that distraction, Brooke rolls up Becky and picks up the win. They begin to beat her down and out comes The Boss. Sasha gets in the ring and points at the title. She gets a quick shot in and then Brooke gets back into the ring. Bank Statement and a statement to Charlotte.
It is crazy how over Sasha Banks STILL is, even if she was not on television for about two months. Her return is a huge boost to a Division that peaked at WrestleMania and has been very average since. This is a shot of energy and fresh breath. I can’t wait to see Sasha get her moment, but make it big. Make it in Brooklyn and potentially involve another Triple Threat Match?
Seth vs. Sami
The action between Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn picked up fast, with Zayn hitting a Blue Thunder Bomb. He gets a two count and Rollins is able to get to his feet and hit a beautiful kick to floor Zayn. The turnbuckle powerbomb and then a Zayn rollup gives him a two count. Sami walks the ropes and hits a Tornado DDT. He sets up his finisher, but Seth rolls to the outside. Sami flies to the outside and throws Seth back into the ring. Seth is able to quickly hit the Pedigree for the win, out of nowhere.
What a great contest between some of the best performers in the business. You can see Seth Rollins changing his game up, being more ground and pound with his agility sprinkled in. I thought this match had enough time to develop, made Zayn look strong and helped Seth get his feet back under him with an opponent similar to Dean Ambrose. After the match, both men got a little attack on each other. You do not want them to destroy the other just yet, but you must tease how badly they want to fight the other. Great action and great build to Battleground tonight.
