Isenberg Reacts: Previewing WWE NXT Takeover Brooklyn II

New Talents, New Time

NXT Takeover will feature two relatively new men, as No Way Jose will take his fun gimmick into a match against Austin Aries. Furthermore, Andrade Almas will have the task of trying to get the Brooklyn crowd to cheer for him and boo a man who is “Glorious.” With both of these matches, I am not sure what to expect. If I was WWE, I would put over Aries and Roode. Bobby Roode will definitely win, but I see them giving the nod to No Way Jose. Austin Aries has been a really good performer for them and I enjoy everything he does. I just am not sure what WOW factor he has been able to provide.

I blame who he has been paired with recently, as Aries is too good to be stuck in a middle of the road storyline with new faces in NXT. I want Austin Aries to really develop into a born heel, one who thrives on putting other’s down. He is smart, witty and his arrogant look takes him far.

As for Bobby Roode, his pairing with Andrade tells me that they are not sold on Andrade. I am not, either. Bobby Roode’s path in 2016 needs to lead him into continued wins, continued heel heat and a potential showdown against Shinsuke Nakamura for an NXT Championship match in 2017. His gimmick, song and attitude is fresh and he is a guy that needs to be booked like the next coming of Triple H. He can be THAT DAMN GOOD.

Aside from working with WrestleZone, Isenberg began his career in Broadcast Journalism interning at ESPN and worked with CBS Radio for three years. He has also had the opportunity to interview some of the best athletes and performers alive, including Andrew McCutchen, Ben Roethlisberger, Chris Jericho, Billy Gunn, Karl Anderson, Matt Hardy, Steven Strasburg and others.

Currently, Josh Isenberg works for Major League Baseball in their Advanced Media Productions. He grew up in Pittsburgh and went to Point Park University, which is where Chair Shot Reality is filmed each week.

His life outside of his obsession with wrestling include being a savant for Seinfeld, NFL, NBA, MLB and many television shows. He also has an undying love for musicals, which includes many shows he was a part of in high school. Some of his favorite wrestling moments can be linked to such superstars as Edge, The Rock, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and The Great Khali.
