The show kicks off with NXT GM Ava in the ring, which is surrounded by the NXT locker room.

The Future of NXT

The NXT Championship is in the middle of the ring. Ava notes that the NXT men’s division is wide open. Who will step up. Ricky Saints‘ music hits. Saints saunters to the ring and thanks Ava for putting this all together for him. Saints rants about getting rid of Trick Williams, Oba Femi, and Je’Von Evans. Femi didn’t want to face Saints again, per Saints. Saints notes that there are a lot of talented men around the ring, and they will be future champions. Future. Saints is the now. Ava scoffs. Saints wants her to hand him the championship.

Ava tells Saints he’s worthy, but so are so many of the other men around the ring right now. The fate of the NXT Championship will be decided in a six-man ladder match. Ava places the championship on the holder, and it’s lifted above the ring. A brawl breaks out. The newest member of the NXT Roster (Evolve), Keanu Carver, walks out from the backstage area and obliterates everyone in sight. Saints looks on from the ramp, his face terrified.

Grade: B

Solid opener. Saints is better as a heel, so his making this all about himself was a great choice. Classic heel stuff. This writer has no idea who Keanu Carver is, but he made an INSTANT impression. In less than a minute, he displayed an insane amount of presence and is clearly the new powerhouse of NXT. Who else are they hiding in Evolve?

Lola Vice vs. Kelani Jordan

Jordan attacks Vice during her entrance. Jordan beats down Vice, then the bell rings. Vice is rocked. Jordan dives off the top into a gut punch from Jordan. After some back and forth, Jordan tries to roll Vice up with her hand on the ropes. The referee catches Jordan mid-cheat and stops the count. Jordan argues with the referee. As Jordan turns around, Vice obliterates her with the Uraken for the win.

Winner- Lola Vice

Grade: B-

Good stiff match. It would be nice to see these two away from each other, but if we have to suffer through quality matches until both have something better to do, sign this writer up.

NXT Men’s Speed Championship Match: Jasper Troy (c) vs. Tavion Heights

Heights is all over Troy. Troy eventually gets the win after a Blackhole Slam.

Winner and STILL Speed Champion, Jasper Troy!

After the match, Lexis King attacks Heights from behind.

Grade: C+

This is probably the highest-rated Speed match in the history of Speed matches. They all stink. It’s impossible to be good in less than three minutes. BUT this match was at least fun. The title matches getting more time helps so much. Troy did what they could with the time they had.

The Glamour is Back

Blake Monroe says she had every intention of reclaiming her championship last week. Yes, she attacked Thea Hail, but she should never have had to compete for her title in the first place. Monroe says she didn’t lose control last week, she lost patience. Jaida Parker‘s music hits. Monroe looks visibly annoyed.

Jaida Parker starts to speak, but Monroe cuts her off and asks if she can help her. Parker tosses her mike, and a brawl breaks out. Parker tear drop hip attacks Monroe in the corner. Monroe rolls out to the apron. Parker sends Monroe flying off the apron with Hypnotiq.

Grade: B

MISS PARKER!

TNA International Championship Match Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo (c) vs. Shiloh Hill

Hill is all over Stacks. Stacks manages to get the win with a roll up and a bit of help from Grace at ringside.

Winner and STILL TNA International Champion, Stacks!

Grade: C+

Hill has spunk but… I don’t get it. He’s the singles version of Hank and Tank.

No Disqualification Match: Joe Hendry vs. Dion Lennox

DarkState surrounds the ring before the match starts. OTM stands with Joe Hendry to watch his back. DarkState backs off. Lennox and Hendry lock up. Hendry sends Lennox flying with a superplex. Hendry and Lennox take turns cheating with help from their corner men. OTM and the rest of DarkState fight to the back. Back in the ring, Hendry gets spinebustered on a chair. Lennoz walks into a Standing Ovation on a chair! Lennox kicks out.

Lennox spears Hendry through a table. Hendry kicks out. Tony D’Angelo appears and hits Lennox with a chair. D’Angelo levels Lennox with a spinebuster. D’Angelo helps a shocked Hendry up and lays him out with a spinebuster! The crowd goes nuts. D’Angelo lays Hendry on top of Lennox. The referee counts the fall.

Winner- Joe Hendry

After the match, Ava brings security to ringside. D’Angleo beats up all of the security.

Grade: B-

This was fun. Having OTM out with Hendry shows a shift in their placement on the card, which is interesting.

WWE NXT Review:

NXT is still in flux, with new stars debuting and an uncertain championship picture. It will take time to reestablish a new normal, but the show has been moderately entertaining as things start to stabilize. Match of the night was Kelani Jordan vs. Lola Vice.
