Saving Jack Swagger

I enjoyed seeing Jack Swagger back on Smackdown and seemingly with something important in his future. The guy has always been a consistent worker and with a gimmick that just makes logical sense. He should be spotlighted on Smackdown and they could use a former world champion who needs a change. The black hat and shirt were simple and maybe it is time for him to rise up the ranks again. Would I love to see something with him and American Alpha? Yes, but you need to build him back up first. How can you do this?

I think you let Swagger have a pattern of matches against real talent, guys like Ziggler, Miz, Crews, Corbin and let him really reintroduce himself to the crowd. Remind us how good he is in the ring, while fine tuning what he says and how he says it to the WWE Universe. After that, he can easily be a guy that feuds with The Miz for a championship opportunity. Talent can only be wasted for so long, so this could be a step in the right direction for both parties.

Speaking of The Miz and Dolph Ziggler, they stole the show on Sunday. Now you need to throw a stipulation for No Mercy. Give Dolph one more chance and let there be a cage around then, a Last Man Standing or something that makes this encounter unique. There are too many regular matches on Smackdown and they need to spice up stipulations for undercard matches. Their interaction tonight was really good, but do not continue to force The Miz not being considered a “champion.” He should not be made to look like a jabroni each week.

We Need More Development

I will be the first one to say that I love Bray Wyatt’s work. I love the gimmick, the promos and the intrigue behind his character and WHY he does certain things. With that being said, can we please do something with him? Randy Orton comes out and talks. Bray Wyatt comes out and talks. The lights go out and Erick Rowan gets a cheap shot in. RKO to Rowan to end the segment.

We need more. I like both men and feel that both men are going to continue to develop into the main event of Smackdown, but you need reasons now. Why is Randy a target? Why does Bray want him? Why is a question that can be so easy or so hard to answer. I just want more for both men in this feud and not the same old promo in the ring followed by a lackluster conclusion.

Currently, Josh Isenberg works for Major League Baseball in their Advanced Media Productions. He grew up in Pittsburgh and went to Point Park University, which is where Chair Shot Reality is filmed each week.

His life outside of his obsession with wrestling include being a savant for Seinfeld, NFL, NBA, MLB and many television shows. He also has an undying love for musicals, which includes many shows he was a part of in high school. Some of his favorite wrestling moments can be linked to such superstars as Edge, The Rock, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and The Great Khali.
