Isenberg Reacts: WWE Smackdown Live “Is Ellsworth’s Time Finally Up?”

Randy Orton defeated Kane

wwe smackdown live

Randy Orton, with The Wyatt Family behind him, took on Kane in the opening match of Smackdown Live. A typical fight, with Kane hitting a sideways slam and then a big boot. Randy was able to counter and hit a hanging DDT. Wyatt drags Kane out of the ring, but gets thrown in the steel steps. Kane drops Harper with a big boot and sets up a chokeslam, only for Randy to hit an RKO. Since this was a No Disqualification match, Orton was victorious. Harper, Wyatt and Orton attack Kane and pose to stand tall.

Not a bad beginning of Randy Orton in the Wyatt Family. I would change a few things if they really want to make us believe he is all in on joining Bray and Luke. Wardrobe change is the simplest and most logical way for Randy Orton to be believed as a full member of The Wyatt Family. Also, have Orton slow down in the ring, really trying to lock in the mind games with his opponent. Aside from this, I was fine with how the match was booked. It was hard hitting and Kane is being used as Kane. He is a guy that will never be world champion, but does show value. Will someone save him or will this be one and done?

Alexa Bliss and Carmella defeated Becky Lynch and Nikki Bella

All four of these women did battle on Smackdown Live, with the heels picking up the victory. After their strong outing in the ring, Bliss and Carmella talk about the Survivor Series match while running down the women on RAW. Alexa Bliss also hypes up her championship match next week in Scotland against Becky Lynch.

I have said this before, but Smackdown has depth in their women’s division much more than RAW. They have two credible feuds and a few more women who are not even being utilized yet. Alexa and Carmella are really thriving in their heel gimmicks, both saying the same thing in essence, but pulling it off with a different tone and attitude. Combustible elements will be the main focal point of every traditional Survivor Series match, but these two deserve to be on the team.
