Isenberg Reacts: WWE RAW “WrestleMania Developments All Night Long”

Never The Best of Friends

The excellent promo skills of Kevin Owens were showcased tonight. He talks about never being best friends with Chris Jericho and turning on him before he could do it to the champion. He goes on to talk about how he is better than Jericho, how he is better than Zayn and he does not need a best friend. He needs a destroyer, which brings out Samoa  Joe.

The tag team match was too short, but it did give us a taste of Jericho and Owens fighting back and forth. Jericho was beaten down by both men and there was not a soul in sight to help him out. The only person I could have seen was Finn Balor, but it looks as if WWE will actually hold him off until WrestleMania or the night after. I am not sure if that is the best decision, considering he just fought in MSG last weekend. If he is ready, let him wrestle. Joe vs. Balor does not need months of build. The progression and hate between Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens is infectious. It works, even when the action is minimal.

NOTE: Nobody cares about The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Big Show is in, The New Day is doing nothing and Shaq will not be at WrestleMania. That wraps up their night on WWE RAW.

The Advocate Does What He Does Best

Promo and The Beast. Tale as old as time. We’ve seen it all before and it never is a bore. Promo and the beast.

Alright, I channeled my inner musical background, but that sums up the appearance from Brock and Paul. They kicked things off and Heyman carried the mic like the best manager does. He also comes up with “Down Goes Goldberg” in a similar tone to “Down Goes Frazier.” He is trying to compare this match to Ali vs. Frazier. As much as it is not, at least he is trying and making us FEEL how important it is. Heyman was the missing piece from 13 years ago. This time around, WWE is letting Heyman do what he needs to do to fill weeks of stagnant storylines.
