WrestleMania 40 Night 2 Predictions

WrestleMania 40 Night 2 takes place live from Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field Sunday, April 7. Six matches have been confirmed thus far for the night. We might get another match announcement this Friday on SmackDown.

Night two will see four title defenses with Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns set to determine the fate of the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event. Both men will work WrestleMania 40 Night 1 as well.

While we anxiously await for the moment, let’s take a look at the predictions for WrestleMania 40 Night 2.

The Pride vs. The Final Testament – Six-man tag team Philadelphia Street Fight

Karrion Kross and The Authors of Pain (aka The Final Testament) attacked Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits at SmackDown: New Year’s Revolution. Both factions spent weeks trying to get the upper hand. Kross seems to have the mental edge with veteran manger Paul Ellering in his corner.

These six men will settle the score once and for all in a Philadelphia Street Fight. Lashley and the Profits are the clear favorites heading into the match. Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford have already lost a shot at the tag team championship.

They better not disappoint their fans with another loss.

Prediction: The Pride def. The Final Testament

LA Knight vs. AJ Styles – Singles match at WrestleMania 40 Night 2

LA Knight versus AJ Styles has had one of the more captivating buildups to WrestleMania XL. Styles turned heel on Knight in the lead-up to Royal Rumble 2024. Neither was able to beat Roman Reigns in the fatal four-way match that also involved Randy Orton.

Knight would make things extremely personal by invading the Styles’ residence. He would also trick the Phenomenal One with a sneak attack last week on SmackDown. Fans want Knight to go after a singles title, but he’d have to step over the former two-time WWE Champion before he gets his mega push.

Prediction: LA Knight def. AJ Styles

Logan Paul (c) vs. Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton – United States Championship Triple Threat Match

Logan Paul and Kevin Owens had arguably the match of the night at Royal Rumble 2024. The Maverick retained his title as a result of a DQ ending. He’d cost Randy Orton the Elimination Chamber win against Drew McIntyre.

Little did Paul know his antics would stack the odds against him. Orton has mostly worked multi-man matches at PLE’s since he returned to WWE at Survivor Series: WarGames 2023. He’s still performing at the highest level and hitting RKO’s out of nowhere.

The triple threat stipulation definitely makes for some interesting match-up. It allows Orton to work a limited moveset because of his history with back injuries. Paul and Owens would probably do the heavy lifting. As for the outcome, the champion picks up the win because his two opponents can no longer co-exist.

Prediction: Logan Paul retains his United States Championship

Seth Rollins (c) vs. Drew McIntyre – World Heavyweight Championship match

I’d punch the air if they don’t give Drew McIntyre a world title win in front of a live crowd. McIntyre was robbed of his moment four years ago at WrestleMania 36. He won the WWE Championship, but without anyone in attendance to celebrate his big moment with him.

Years of losing high-profile matches due to outside interference only made him ruthless. The old Drew McIntyre returned in the lead-up to Survivor Series: WarGames 2023. Despite the reversion, McIntyre failed to beat Rollins for the world title on RAW: Day 1.

His hopes of getting a title shot at WrestleMania were seemingly dashed to the ground by CM Punk at the 2024 Royal Rumble. McIntyre was eliminated but not before he injured CM Punk with the Future Shock DDT. The Voice of the Voiceless will be on commentary for the world title match this Sunday.

I have a feeling the main event of WrestleMania 40 Night 1 might influence the outcome of the World Heavyweight Championship match. On paper, McIntyre interferes in the tag team match on night one and costs the babyfaces against The Bloodline. He rubs salt into the wound by beating Rollins for the title the very next night with a little assistance from The Bloodline.

Prediction: And New World Heavyweight Champion, Drew McIntyre!

IYO SKY (c) vs. Bayley – WWE Women’s Championship match

“Watashi wakaru yo” is arguably the most important promo of Bayley’s career to date. The Role Model knew she was getting played by Damage CTRL. The entire segment was a brilliant callback to Batista’s turn on Evolution all those years ago.

Bayley wanted Damage CTRL to succeed. She mentored them to tag team title win on multiple occasions while failing to beat Bianca Belair herself. The Role Model took the bullet for her group at Survivor Series: WarGames 2023.

We knew a babyface turn was coming for the former Hugger. Bayley’s win at the 2024 Royal Rumble planted the seeds for a title match against IYO SKY. The champion has had a solid title run with some great matches against the likes of Asuka and Michin on SmackDown.

But all things must come to an end!

Prediction: Bayley def. IYO SKY for the title

Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cody Rhodes – Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match main events WrestleMania 40 Night 2

Imagine finding out you’re about to lose the biggest match of your career in the ring. For Cody Rhodes, losing the title match at WrestleMania 39 was brutal but it meant bigger things would come. He now heads into WrestleMania 40 as possibly the biggest babyface on the roster since John Cena.

Even The Rock had no choice but to turn heel due to all the “Cody crybabies”. Every person involved in the feud has done a brilliant job of giving pro wrestling arguably the greatest WrestleMania main event of the modern era. The American Nightmare has bled for his business. He’s been forced to watch and hear his family get insulted.

All so he can finish his story in a Bloodline Rules match this Sunday.

Prediction: And new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, the American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes!
