The Opinions on Ring of Honor And Independent Wrestling From a WWE Fan

I have watched Adam Cole being kicked out of the Bullet Club about ten times over the past 24 hours. I’m not sure why, but it intrigues me. Not many things catch my eye, but this did. Theater of the mind and creative video packages will always grab my attention. No, not House of Horrors. Now, I have seen Adam Cole matches. I can tell he is going to be a star wherever he goes next. I have seen Marty Scurll matches and have enjoyed Kenny Omega like everyone else. Some guys just stand out no matter what promotion they are in. Do I watch every single minute? Every show? Absolutely not, but I can understand why people love this promotion.

Ring of Honor was viewed as a stepping stone for so many talent. Stars like CM Punk, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan and Cesaro come to mind when thinking about the history of ROH. With the rumors circulating that Adam Cole  is making the jump to WWE, specifically NXT, many can still see Ring of Honor as just the “minor leagues.” Production value is much lower. Shows are less expensive. ROH does things that NXT did before they were “NXT.”

When I look at Ring of Honor now, I do not see it as a minor league promotion. I see it as guys getting chances that they might not elsewhere. Guys like Cody Rhodes and Christopher Daniels, who are proven talent, are having freedom in doing what they want to do. They are getting opportunities to work with some great talent and minds alike, without the machine clogging them down. THIS is a huge reason why ROH is succeeding in their own way.

My criticisms of independent wrestling and Ring of Honor are simple.
