No Mercy 2000 was a night of history for Kurt Angle as he became the first and only superstar to win an Olympic Gold Medal and the WWE Championship. As with the Attitude Era, there was a lot of interference from Stephanie McMahon, Triple H and eventually Rikishi.
While Rikishi tried to help The Rock, he accidentally cost him the match and Angle would win the WWE Championship on his debut year.
