Randy Savage Born On This Day
Today would have been “Macho Man” Randy Savage‘s 66th birthday. The wrestling legend was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2015 by his brother, “The Genius” Lanny Poffo. Just like Sasha Banks was with Eddie Guerrero, Bayley was highly influenced by the look and style of Savage. The following is from a 2015 Miami Herald interview with Bayley:
“I’m a huge Macho Man [Randy Savage] fan. Him being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year is so cool, and it’s in my hometown [San Jose]. His ring gear is actually what stood out to me when I first saw him. He was the first guy I saw ever in wrestling; so that’s what hooked me to him and what got me into wrestling. I kind of base my gear to being very colorful, different shapes and a little bit of randomness, basing it off him.”
Savage was a two-time WWE Champion and was one of the biggest wrestling stars in the 1980s and 1990s.
