Reported Details On Asuka’s WrestleMania 35 Plans

Twitter user @wrestlevotes reports the following about Asuka and WWE’s WrestleMania 35 plans for the SmackDown Women’s Champion, “Been getting a ton of Asuka questions. As far as I know, they do have a plan for Mania. Just wasn’t wise for Asuka to be featured the last few weeks. WWE doesn’t want excessive “brand jumping” prior to WM, leaving only Lana or Vega for Chamber. That’s not a PPV matchup WWE wanted.”

Asuka won the 2018 Royal Rumble earning the right to challenge then SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34; but, came up short of winning the title. Asuka floundered on the SmackDown roster until earning a SmackDown Championship opportunity against then champion Becky Lynch and Flair in a Triple Threat Ladder Match at TLC. Asuka made the most of her opportunity and walked out of TLC as the new SmackDown Women’s Champion. Since then, she successfully answered Becky Lynch’s challenge at the Royal Rumble.

With Lynch ultimately winning the Royal Rumble Match, there was speculation that Charlotte Flair would go on to challenge Asuka in a WrestleMania 34 rematch; however, with Becky Lynch now ‘suspended,’ Charlotte Flair will challenge RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 35 with many expecting Lynch to inevitably be added to the match.
