The National Wrestling Alliance has announced Santana Garrett will face off with Allysin Kay for the vacated NWA Women’s Championship at this weekend’s Crockett Cup event.
Garrett was added to the match after former champion Jazz removed herself from the bout; she later issued a statement citing injuries and personal issues as to why she was pulled from the match. Garrett has competed for a number of organizations, including WOW – Women Of Wrestling and IMPACT Wrestling. She is also a former NWA Women’s Champion, holding the title for 314 days back in 2015.
In addition to the new opponent for Kay, NWA also teased a women’s legend being at the event to present the championship to the winner of the Kay/Garrett match. NWA presents the Crockett Cup on April 27, 2019 at the Carrabus Arena in Concord, North Carolina.
