The latest edition of Ten Pounds of Gold shines a focus on the NWA World Championship Match between Nick Aldis and Marty Scrull at Crockett Cup 2019. Nick starts off the episode talking about his goals as NWA Champion. He states that he’s king of the mountain, but that he wants to make his particular mountain higher by raising the prestige of the NWA belt.
Marty Scrull recaps some of his career, talking about how he and Nick go way back. They started off together, and Marty appeared in TNA’s British Boot Camp while Nick was in the company as Magnus. Despite their similar paths, they clashed before G1 Supercard, and Nick stated that Marty “choked” during that show’s main event.
The two wrestlers will compete for the NWA World Championship at the main event at Crockett Cup on PPV this Sunday. Other scheduled matches include Willie Mack vs. Colt Cabana for the NWA National Championship and Allysin Kay vs. Santana Garrett for the NWA Women’s Championship.
