Update: Ric Flair’s Health Scare Not As Serious As Initial Report, Was Planned Procedure

Update: According to Conrad Thompson on today’s Starrcast media call, Ric Flair’s health situation is not as serious as initially reported by TMZ. He noted Flair knew about the procedure ahead of time and was having it before Las Vegas next week.

Pro Wrestling Sheet‘s Ryan Satin is also reporting one source claimed Flair has been dealing with some heart issues. It was also noted that while his trip to the hospital was related and pre-planned, the situation was still more serious than he was letting on.

TMZ is reporting Ric Flair was rushed to the hospital early Thursday morning due to a medical emergency.

According to the report, Flair was in the Atlanta area (where he lives) and was taken to the emergency room after something had gone wrong. It’s unclear as to what specifically happened, but TMZ called the situation “very serious.” Flair’s team have not yet commented on the matter.

Flair previously had a medical scare in 2017 that saw him placed in a medically induced coma for 11 days. Following his release from the hospital, Flair had been open about his symptoms and years of alcohol abuse, and said that he had kidney failure, respiratory heart failure pneumonia and was septic.

More recently, he appeared in better health and was involved in the WrestleMania 35 feud between Triple H and Batista, and celebrated his 70th birthday earlier this year. Flair is also scheduled to appear weekend in Las Vegas at the Roast of Ric Flair at Starrcast II.
