Shane McMahon isn’t the most humble of superstars, so it wasn’t too surprising to see the man they call the best in the world come out during tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live to take part in his own “Shane McMahon Appreciation Night,” which showcased a montage of highlights from the career of Shane.
After the montage ended, McMahon noted that the purpose behind it was to remind guys like Roman Reigns that the WWE has been around for some time, and has been putting food in the mouths of Reigns for some time, even referencing the attack that McMahon placed on Roman’s cousin, Lance Anoa’i, last night during Monday Night RAW.

As Elias began performing a new song for McMahon, however, R-Truth came running into the ring from the stands, being chased by Drake Maverick. After taking down Maverick to retain his 24/7 Championship, Truth was then taken down by both Elias and Drew McIntyre.
After beating him down, Elias pinned Truth to become the new 24/7 Champion, and Shane proceeded to suspend the 24-hour rule in order for Elias and McIntyre to take on both Truth and Roman Reigns in a tag-team match later tonight.
