During yesterday’s MTV Movie Awards, Becky Lynch was up for Best Fight, in a field that featured the likes of Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. As she joined the red carpet, she was asked about facing off against the legendary Supreme Court Justice for an award.
When asked what it was like have her WrestleMania 35 main event nominated, Lynch said it was still a bit surreal. “It’s one thing to be the main event of WrestleMania, and it’s something that you dream of…and then to be recognized at the MTV TV & Movie Awards is just, again, unthinkable.”
Lynch went on to take a joking shot at the field, saying that she only had one take to complete her match. When talking about Ginsburg, Lynch said that she was also fighting for injustice. “Ruth’s up there too, fighting for injustice … she only gets one shot, too, so really it’s just between us two.” she joked. While Lynch was unable to take home the award, just being nominated is a huge honor, and shows just how major Lynch’s match at WrestleMania 35 was.
