All Elite Wrestling released their first Road to All Out video and as promised, Shawn Spears sat down with Jim Ross for an interview. Ross opened their conversation by saying that he thought Spears was underutilized and that there had to be a reason why he attacked Cody Rhodes at Fyter Fest.
Spears answered by saying how much it meant to him that Ross was doing the interview and that he respects “JR.” He says that there are five people in his inner-circle and that it’s by design. Cody was one of them. Spears says there are certain things you don’t do and there are certain terms you don’t say within your core group.
“Cody crossed the line and you know what I’m talking about,” said Spears. “He’s changed. He put on a suit … and you don’t call someone a ‘good hand,’ JR.” That’s why Spears attacked him because he needed to be reminded.
Spears says he felt like they used to be brothers and that the chair reminded Cody that they bleed the same color. He knows that Cody will accept his challenge at All Out and says that wars are won with the greatest minds. That’s when Tully Blanchard walks in and tells Ross that the interview is over.
